FOCUSED

I spent a lot of my twenties and thirties unclear about what it was I was to do with my life.

I am pleased to report that as I stare down 40 (May 20!), I’ve finally figured out a couple of things about me.

1) I really enjoy working.

2) I really enjoy playing.

3) I do not enjoy the time between working and playing: down time.

I actually see work and play as the same thing. Two sides of the same coin. I’ve had jobs that were, ultimately, down time. And I hated them. But every job I’ve ever had that had me working and playing, I pretty much liked. It’s just when those jobs became mostly down time, that I...uh, quit.

Nowadays I have a really great job that is equal parts work and play, with no down time. None at all.

I like it a lot.
