SCHOOL

I am in discussions with Carlbrook School in Halifax, VA about a live theatre collaboration in December.

These ten principles inform the educational approach at Carlbrook:

1. Honor is the foundation of self-perception and positive self-image.

2. Students function best with increased responsibility.

3. Leadership and self-determination spring from critical, independent thought.

4. Those who cannot help others cannot help themselves.

5. Interdependence is the essence of independence.

6. Sound reasoning is resultant of a sound mind.

7. Substantive relationships ignite inspiration and the motivation to change.

8. Recreation reinvigorates the soul and creates opportunity for friendship.

9. Respect, for self and others, is key to learning, achievement and personal growth.

10. The importance of family cannot be overstated.

What kid wouldn’t want to attend a school like this? And...who wouldn’t want to teach at a school like this?

My visit to Carlbrook was truly inspiring.
