SHOW

I’ve seen U2 play live twice before. Tonight’s number three.

When news of U2 360 broke...another U2 stadium tour...I was less than enthusiastic.

Performance art is ALWAYS better small. There is no thousand-seat theatre that gets me excited. 99 or less is my favorite seating capacity. And I prefer less. When the seat count hits 250, I start head for the exits. Close to the action is where I want to be. Far, is just not worth my time.

Bono says they built the largest touring set in history to “bring us closer to you.” Tonight, the NFL’s largest home stadium will challenge his ambition.

I have pretty decent seats for the show. The first two times I saw U2, we sat in cheap, “nose-bleed” seats. Maybe...the third time will be the charm.

Or...my favorite band ever will strike out...swinging for the rafters.
