It simply must be done. But...only with someone (or ones) I love.
(Which means I have to return to Sydney, now. Have to.)
It became overwhelmingly clear today, standing at the base of The Sydney Harbour Bridge, that there are some things in life that are better experienced with someone else than alone.
The epic scale the Bridge Climb presents...the sheer scope of the adventure it suggests...this is a thing that must be done with...or gone without.
Space Mountain, getting married, combat, dinner at the White House, picking a Christmas tree, baby-making, backstage passes, funerals, walking on the moon: life events that require far too much humanity to go it alone.
When I put on my Bridge Climb jumpsuit, I want someone I love zipping me up.
So I walked the bridge today, didn’t climb. Street level. Thinking of everyone I love.
