I’ve drafted a personal biography for my work directing Our Town at Carlbrook.I hate writing these things. Most audience members don’t realize that when you read an artist’s bio in a play program, the artist himself wrote it...or that’s traditionally been the case.
I find it really difficult to write something properly self-promotional and true.
CHRIS WHITE is a screenwriter, actor and theatre director from Greenville, South Carolina. His stage adaptation of Rian Johnson’s Sundance Award-Winning film, BRICK was recently produced in Sydney, Australia. Directing credits include TEENAGE JONNY QUEST IN TOKYO, TREASURE ISLAND, MUSEUM, THE DINING ROOM, and THE 15-MINUTE HAMLET. Chris is currently adapting Alan Lightman’s New York Times best-selling novel, “Einstein’s Dreams” for the stage.
Woody Allen’s bio from the Broadway run of Play It Again Sam was hilariously nonsensical (I’ll find it, promise…). I’m often tempted to go that route.
