CHAMP

Does anyone really care where this LeBron James cat plays professional basketball next year?

Apparently, he’s decided to go “to South Beach” and play for a team called the Heat. Left his team in Cleveland after several solid seasons there...but no more blue collar, rust belt winters for this champ. He’s “going to South Beach.”

“To win championships!”

I think it’s finally time I officially check out of this whole...America thing. Not to be unpatriotic, but I mean...really. Something about the attention being paid this man-child riding to a playground job in a Bentley really needles me. Why the all-American narrative associated with his “decision?”

Hey look, LBJ...you want “to win championships?” Go right ahead. Take ‘em all. Hell, take my trophies, too. Go win championships with your buddies in South Beach.

An inspiration to us all!

Big dumb winning. It's the American way.

  1. When we were kids, the thing I loved about sports was the head down, aw shucks humility that prevailed in nearly every arena. The key in any endeavor is to let others praise you, not DECLARE yourself to be king. Arrogance. Big turn off. Huge.

  3. Anyway, I also replied to your screenplay email back on the blog page where you talked about that. Very good screenplay, I think. Not that anyone will ever read my comments, of course. Because I'm being censored.

  4. And the word verification things are getting harder and harder to read, probably because I'm being censored.
