Milt Breedlove is 83 years old…and will not make it to 84. Twenty-five years ago, Milt was Ed McMahon to Reg’s Johnny Carson on a short-lived local entertainment news show on KCBS in Los Angeles. This was Reg’s “big break” in the states, but after just four months, the two were canned in favor of PM Magazine.
“Milt was like a father to me,” Reg says wistfully. “I’ve not seen him in ages…he’ll be thrilled to see us.”
The tiny house on the desert plain looks like something out of a John Ford Western, and we they enter the home, we see that Milt resembles John Wayne…in his waning days. Milt is riddled with lung cancer…wears a mask to breathe. Still…he is a grand old man…and like Wayne: feo, fuerte y forma.
Eric and Susan are introduced, but linger in the background as Reg and Milt exchange old showbiz stories.
