TAKEN IN

During the fall of 2009 and 2010, I successfully solicited donations from friends and strangers to support a trip to Australia and a short film.

I’d thought that this would become an annual ritual…kick off a new creative project in the fall, ask folks to help me pay for it. But here it is…barely 2011 and I’m at it again.

My most ambitious project and my most ambitious ask: $7,750 to make a feature length film in ten weeks.

The film is called TAKEN IN. It’s about a teenage girl and her father who are forced to spend 72 hours alone together at a fading family motel during her first weekend away from a therapeutic boarding school. At first, they revert to the same, dysfunctional relational habits of the past. But eventually, a kind of slow, creeping grace develops between them.
