Tomorrow morning I head to Roanoke, VA to visit with Dr. Klaus Phillips, head of Hollins University’s summer MFA screenwriting program. My thinking is this: I'd like to intensively focus on screenwriting, get better at it, and network with other serious writers and people in the industry. I’d also like to have a “terminal” masters degree, which qualifies me to teach at the college level. I can’t afford to move out of Greenville for the next two or three years for a more traditional program. The Hollins program allows me to reside in Greenville with my family...and maintain the flexibility to earn a living.
I think it makes a lot of sense for me now...of course, I’ll know more tomorrow after meeting with Dr. Phillips.
Oh yeah...after the Hollins visit, I be driving over to Halifax to hang with Idiom Savant alum, Andy Coe and his family.
Yay! Go Chris.
