Ask these questions to 25 board members, paid and volunteer staff, and long-time supporters:
1) Why is our work important to you? What do we do for you that no one else does?
2) When have we been at our very best? What did our best FEEL LIKE to you?
3) Who do you know that we’ve reached and integrated into our family? Who do you know that we can and should reach and integrate into our family?
These interviews should occur face-to-face at a non-theater location.
Urge each person you speak with to provide their most honest feedback. And do your very best not to interrupt or paraphrase their answers. Just listen. Take thorough notes. And thank them.
What you hear may surprise you...for better or worse.
