They visit Cupid’s Chapel of Love, a local wedding chapel where Reg interviews the proprietor about why people come to Gatlinburg to marry…what they are like, what they expect. As the sun begins to fade, Reg and Eric sit on the sidewalk near Ripley’s Candy Factory. It is “golden hour” and Reg explains to Eric that he likes shooting at this time of day.
“Fading sunlight makes mere mortals look like movie stars.” Eric shoots a couple of close-ups…segment leads, on-the-spot witticisms. Reg asks Eric about his (failed) marriage and the woman he is dating now.
“I was only in love once, I think…” Eric confesses. “But it passed.” He has different expectations for relationships now.
I-40 West. Across the entire Volunteer state to Memphis. Eighteen miles from Graceland and Reg and Eric are bickering because Reg is insisting that they shoot a segment for the pilot at Elvis' home.
