ANNIVERSARY

Exactly one year ago I began tracking my personal and professional creative endeavors on this blog.

I’d just left my job as a public school teacher to pursue screenwriting, play-making, and whatever marketing communications consulting work I could find to pay the bills.

At the time, I wrote this: “Not quite sure what this is...or will be. I know that it feels exciting. And if you’ve ever truly felt excited you know that its as terrifying as it is exhilarating.”

I am still so, so excited. Every single day. I love what I do.

But I do still struggle with the dreaded “so what do you do?” question, but...I’ve grown more comfortable answering it this past year:

“I write. I write movies, actually...and I make plays. Yeah...sometimes I make films.”

So yeah...the past 365 days have pretty much been the best year of my life.
